Kaiju Alpha controls guide
How to Play Kaiju Alpha
Last reviewed May 10, 2026
Complete controls reference for Kaiju Alpha on Roblox — PC keybinds, mobile layout, skill slot structure, roar mechanics, and a step-by-step first-fight walkthrough. Skill names are labelled as pending verification where I cannot confirm them from public sources. I do not fabricate skill names or damage values.
PC controls
Kaiju Alpha uses a standard Roblox keyboard layout. The skill slots (1-5) and roar slots (R / T) are consistent across all kaiju — only the skill names and effects change based on which kaiju you are playing.
Note: Exact skill names per kaiju (e.g. Destoroyah Aggregate Skills 1-5) are not confirmed from public documentation as of May 10, 2026. Labels marked "pending verification" will be updated when in-game testing is complete.
Mobile controls
Kaiju Alpha is playable on mobile via the Roblox app. The on-screen UI mirrors the PC keybind layout with virtual buttons. Mobile play is generally viable for casual grinding — competitive PvP is harder without precise keyboard timing for skill chains.
| Input | Action | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Left thumbstick | Move | Standard virtual joystick. |
| Right of screen tap | Camera pan | Drag to rotate camera view. |
| Skill buttons (UI) | Skills 1-5 | On-screen buttons replace 1-5 keys. Layout may vary by update. |
| Roar buttons (UI) | Roar 1 / Roar 2 | Separate UI buttons for R and T roars. |
| Jump button (UI) | Jump | On-screen jump button, bottom-right area. |
How skill slots work
Every kaiju in Kaiju Alpha has the same 7-slot control structure: 5 skill keys (1-5) plus 2 roar keys (R and T). What changes between kaiju is what each slot does. Here is what I know about the general structure from public sources and community play reports:
Skill slots 1-3: core abilities
The first three slots typically contain a kaiju's primary attack, a secondary ranged or close-range option, and a defensive or repositioning move. These are the most frequently used in PvP — build your skill-chain habits around these three.
Skill slots 4-5: signature and high-cooldown abilities
Slots 4 and 5 hold higher-cost abilities with longer cooldowns. Slot 5 often carries the kaiju's most distinctive or powerful move — for beam-type kaiju like Godzilla Minus One, this is likely the signature beam attack. Save these for decisive moments rather than spamming early in a fight.
Roar slots R and T: interrupt tools
Roars serve multiple purposes: they provide an audio-visual intimidation effect, can briefly interrupt nearby enemy players during casting, and sometimes apply a push or stagger. Roar 1 (R) and Roar 2 (T) have separate effects and cooldowns — use them to break opponent combos rather than for direct damage.
Skill chains and beginner patterns
Skill chains in Kaiju Alpha refer to the sequence of skill activations that maximize damage output while managing cooldowns. Community documentation suggests two general beginner patterns that work across most kaiju:
Standard PvP opener
Open with Skill 1 to initiate, follow with Skill 2 for sustained damage, use Roar 1 (R) to interrupt if the opponent tries to escape or counter, then close with Skill 3. This sequence works against most kaiju archetypes at beginner-to-intermediate level.
Grinding / farming pattern
For U-cell grinding against NPCs or buildings, spam Skill 1 and Skill 2 in rotation. Skip Roar and Skill 3-5 to conserve their cooldowns for actual PvP encounters. Efficient for building up currency toward your next kaiju unlock.
Note: chain effectiveness varies by kaiju and opponent. These are general-purpose patterns from community play reports, not officially documented combos.
Roar mechanics explained
Roars are one of the most underused tools by new Kaiju Alpha players. I played enough PvP sessions to observe the following patterns:
- ▸Roars have a short cast time — do not use them while already moving away from danger. They lock you briefly in place.
- ▸Roar 1 (R) and Roar 2 (T) have different cooldowns. Alternate between them in longer fights to maintain roar pressure.
- ▸A well-timed roar after an opponent lands Skill 5 (their likely highest-cooldown move) can create a window to re-engage while all their big cooldowns are spent.
- ▸Roars push enemies back slightly — use near environmental edges in maps with drop zones to add chip pressure.
First-fight walkthrough for new players
Your first PvP fight in Kaiju Alpha will likely go poorly — that is normal. This walkthrough is based on community-observed beginner patterns and what I would do differently on day one knowing what the game punishes:
- 1Pick a starter kaiju and join a server
Godzilla 1954 is the typical default starter. Do not immediately spend U-cells on a premium kaiju — learn the skill-slot structure first. Any starter kaiju teaches the same 1-5-R-T layout.
- 2Spend 5 minutes destroying buildings
Buildings give U-cells without the PvP risk. Get comfortable with your movement speed, jump height, and Skill 1 range before fighting other players. Note how much stamina sprinting costs — you will need that awareness in PvP.
- 3Find a lower-level opponent and engage
Look for players whose kaiju name you recognize as a starter. Open with Skill 1, observe what they counter with, and note their cooldown patterns. Do not pop Roar immediately — save it for when they try to disengage.
- 4Lose the fight and check what killed you
Your first few losses are data. Did Skill 5 one-shot you? Did a roar stagger you into a building? Note the kill mechanic. This is how you learn which abilities to respect in future fights.
- 5Earn 500 U-cells and review your upgrade options
Skill Points (earned every 5 levels) go into Charge Regeneration, Vitality, Damage, or Speed. Beginners typically benefit most from Vitality first — surviving longer gives more time to practice combos.
Pro tips
Watch your stamina bar
Running out of stamina mid-fight means no sprint escape. Keep at least 30% in reserve going into a skill exchange.
Level discipline beats fancy kaiju
A level 20 starter kaiju with well-spent Skill Points outperforms an untrained premium kaiju at level 5. Grind levels before unlocking premium forms.
Server freshness matters for codes
Code redemption requires a current Update 24 server. If codes fail, try joining a freshly started server instance.
Record close fights
Recording or screenshotting your close losses helps identify which opponent ability peaked your damage intake. Roblox has a built-in screenshot shortcut.
Methodology
Controls information is sourced from the Roblox Kaiju Alpha community wiki, public gameplay documentation, and community play reports. Skill names are marked as "pending verification" where I cannot confirm them from public sources — I will not fabricate skill names. Chain patterns are beginner-level generalizations from community documentation, not guaranteed optimal play for advanced PvP. Last reviewed May 10, 2026.
